The Chevrolet Camaro 1LT Convertible is powered by a 2.0L Turbocharged engine delivering 275 horsepower and a peak torque of 400 Nm. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h with the 8-speed automatic transmission is achieved in approximately 5.6 seconds. The engine features turbocharging, Direct Injection (DI), and Variable Valve Timing (VVT), ensuring both efficiency and strong performance. The Camaro comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission offering manual shift capability via steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

The chassis of this legendary American muscle car is built on the modern GM Alpha platform, engineered specifically for performance cars with a focus on body rigidity, a low center of gravity, and optimal weight distribution between the axles. Thanks to the reinforced floor structure and additional bracing, even the convertible retains high torsional stiffness – a key factor for precise steering feedback and stability during dynamic driving.

The front suspension consists of an independent MacPherson strut setup with aluminum control arms. Progressive-rate coil springs are paired with gas-pressurized dampers, tuned for a balanced sport/comfort compromise. The lightweight aluminum components of the front axle make the car agile and responsive to steering inputs. At the rear, a sophisticated multi-link suspension is employed. Separate mounting of the coil springs and dampers allows for improved suspension geometry. This multi-link layout ensures excellent wheel control under acceleration and cornering loads, adding stability and driving confidence.

The entire suspension system is overseen by StabiliTrak, GM’s advanced Electronic Stability Control (ESC) integrated with the vehicle’s selectable drive modes. StabiliTrak continuously monitors steering angle, wheel rotation, and yaw rates through a network of sensors. When a discrepancy between intended steering input and actual vehicle trajectory is detected, the system applies braking to individual wheels and, if necessary, reduces engine output to regain stability. Being a classic rear-wheel-drive car, the Camaro is also equipped with a Traction Control System (TCS), which prevents excessive wheel spin during hard acceleration, particularly on slippery surfaces.

The Camaro 1LT/2LT trims allow the driver to configure the vehicle through three pre-defined drive modes:

• Tour – For everyday neutral driving with smooth stability interventions, maximizing comfort and safety.
• Sport – Reduces ESC interference, allows greater slip angles, and delivers a more engaging driving experience while retaining a safety net.
• Snow/Ice – Stronger intervention of stability and traction control systems for maximum security on slippery surfaces.

Even in its base specification, the Camaro comes with a robust braking setup. Up front are 320 mm ventilated discs with dual-piston calipers, while the rear axle is fitted with nearly identical 315 mm ventilated discs. This system provides ample stopping power for the turbocharged 2.0L engine.

Inside, the Camaro offers supportive sport seats with excellent lateral bolstering. The driver’s seat is 8-way power adjustable, while the passenger seat features 6-way power adjustment. The sporty multifunction steering wheel is wrapped in leather, with a thick-rim design and tilt-and-telescopic adjustment. As part of the Technology Package, the Camaro comes equipped with a premium 9-speaker Bose audio system and the advanced Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system with an 8-inch touchscreen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car has keyless door opening and start.

On the exterior, the Camaro is distinguished by 20-inch gloss black aluminum wheels, an aggressive black front grille, and LED daytime running lights. The rear is complemented by a subtle decklid spoiler. The power-operated soft-top roof opens or closes in approximately 18–20 seconds via a console-mounted switch and can even be operated while driving at speeds up to 48 km/h (30 mph).
