Car introduction
The new 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor features a 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine with 400HP and 563Nm of torque. The Tremor variant, with its twin-turbo system, boasts the most powerful engine in the entire lineup of new Explorers. It showcases a striking dynamic front-end design, accentuated by 18” and All-Terrain tires P265/65R18. The Tremor version retains its signature black grille with a prominent mesh pattern. The chassis of the vehicle is protected by an engine and transmission cover. The vehicle is powered by an intelligent 4WD system that automatically adapts to changes in terrain. Additionally, the driver can choose from various driving modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Trail and Deep Snow/Sand which adjust the stability system, traction control, and shifting to provide optimal performance for each surface. The smooth ride is ensured by the proven 10-speed automatic SelectShift transmission, which includes the option for sporty paddle shifters.
The chassis of the Ford Explorer Tremor is engineered with a focus on traction and durability off paved roads. It combines independent suspension on both axles with a specific off-road tuning and extended suspension travel. The system utilizes shock absorbers and springs with a softer characteristic, effectively absorbing uneven terrain while enhancing both comfort and stability off-road. The rear axle is equipped with a mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential with off-road calibration, particularly beneficial outside standard road conditions. An increased ground clearance of approximately 221 mm enables safe traversal of obstacles and is complemented by robust underbody protection in the form of steel skid plates for the engine and drivetrain, ensuring greater durability in demanding environments.
The redesigned 6-seat interior of the new model features high-end upholstery from the renowned Italian company Miko. The new ActiveX upholstery is a synthetic seating material designed to suit an active lifestyle. It is easier to clean, stain-resistant, and more durable than leather, while maintaining a premium look and feel over time. The sport front seats are power-adjustable, heated, and ventilated. The captain’s chairs in the second row offer ample space and heating. The third-row seats are power-foldable. The Tremor off-road model provides a leather-wrapped dashboard and door inserts with stitching, and the driver will appreciate the hefty leather-wrapped multifunction heated steering wheel, which is electrically adjustable in two axes, and a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster.
The new model is equipped with the next generation Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0, which includes a complete set of driving assistants, such as a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control with full stop capability, Active Park Assist 2.0 for parallel and perpendicular parking, and Intersection Assist 2.2, which monitors surroundings during left turns and stops the vehicle in case of an imminent frontal collision.
Passengers can enjoy premium sound from the Bang&Olufsen audio system with 14 speakers, a subwoofer, and a 980-watt amplifier, along with the panoramic roof. The model offers wireless charging pads for the driver and front passenger, and USB-C charging ports for the second and third rows. A new feature is the 13.2” Ford Digital Experience touchscreen multimedia system, allowing drivers to access their favorite apps and services from Google and Amazon via the new integrated console, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The interior ambiance is enhanced with user-configurable lighting color options.
